A day in the life

Musical

There's been a constant drizzle all day so I've decided to do indoor things today. Sometimes it feels necessary and quite fun to ignore unpleasant weather and go out anyway but today I felt a bit whimpy.

I did have to go to work at the theatre in the evening though, still drizzling but now I had a clear purpose. Opera singers from the Malmö Opera was guesting the house tonight, singing songs from musicals. The ensemble of five singers and two instrumentalists, piano and oboe, was led by a well known Swedish opera artist, Rickard Söderberg so it was almost sold out. A large part of the audience are rarely seen here, being 80+. We even had to call the ambulance in the first act because one of them suddenly wasn't feeling well and had to fe fetched to go to the hospital. That's when we, who are working directly with the audience can be helpful to make things go quicker. Everything went well with the lady though.

Todays blip, from one of the boxes,  is of the audience, because the second half of the show the ensemble were singing opera classics together with the audience and the big lights were on. Quite a fun idea I thought, it felt like a live karaoke with real opera singers making it sound good and "for real".
