Buttercup frenzy

A much more uplifting day after yesterday's walking disappointments. We went walking with a plan to go along the footpaths south of Bearsted where we saw only one or two people after we'd left the Woodland Trust.

Started the morning with a chat with eldest son which was a pleasant way to start the day. He was out walking his dog so we were able to catch up on the goings-on in his household. He's still travelling to work at BAe Systems which he's enjoying doing with so little traffic and so little distraction at work.

The buttercups seem brilliant this year. Are they or are we just noticing things more? As you can see from the extra when we climbed the stile out of the field our shoes were covered in yellow pollen. Does that mean we like butter? Horse Chestnut spikes were beautiful too. And, I thought the garden flowers looked interesting with the Californian Poppy interloper

More prosaic tasks this afternoon. I rearranged the greenhouse, potted 15 tomato plants into their final pots, washed myriads of pots, trays and seed plugs, cleared up then collapsed in a heap. We were complimented on how our well our allotment looked by one of our neighbouring plot holders. Dad would have been proud and pleased!

Things are looking up, we won a Lucky Dip on the Lottery last night. First "win" for ages. So we're in the draw for Wednesday.
