St. Francis Gets a New Border

Dear Diary,

Very cool yesterday but the sun stayed shining so John and I worked in the garden, six feet apart of course.  We were installing a new border to the flower beds in St. Francis's garden and it looks really good if I do say so myself.  I really didn't like the old black edging but it was cheap and I had so many plants to buy when I was putting the garden in it worked.  I am pleased St. Francis has a proper edging now.

As to yesterday's question, "what is the difference between a graveyard and a cemetery", some of you guessed.  A graveyard is associated with a church and a cemetery is non-sectarian and maintained by the town.  In  old cemeteries, people were buried with the head west and feet east so that they "face" the rising sun on the day of resurrection.  It was so in the old cemetery I visited yesterday.  Most graves had both head and foot stones as well, something you don't see now.  If you are interested, here is a great TedEd presentation on the "Fascinating History of Cemeteries".
