Hawkbit

A lovely, gentle ramble around the lanes and fields of Otham, Caring Lane and Caring Road this morning. The field of buttercups I blipped twice recently were, if anything, more spectacular today than here or here.

Closer inspection revealed not just buttercups but also hawkbit and we think yellow rattle. This field is being properly managed as a wildflower meadow and is spectacular. Up until then the photo of the Mill, in the extras, with the derelict buildings in front with a carpet of buttercups was going to be my Derelict Sunday blip. I also like the second extra with the cow parsley in the background. I think this is one of the best shots I've had in a very long while. Thank you for hosting WFW20_8 Miranda1008.

Collected some rhubarb from the allotment on the way home having a pleasant chat with the plotholders next door who were hard at the weeding!

The afternoon has gone quickly with Susan baking and me shopping and getting ready for the big day tomorrow. I found the birthday card I bought some days ago which I'd put away so safely that I couldn't remember where it was. Talk about squirrels forgetting where they hid their nuts...

Another glorious lockdownish (to quote Technophobe) day. The Woodland Trust was busy but the lanes and paths were we walked were quiet. That is except for the whiney roars of bikers and boy racers in souped-up, backfiring bangers. Grrr. Grumpy old man!

Thank you for your comments yesterday consensus and compassion. Seems like it's in short supply in the USA too.
