The accidental finding

Modern Times

Hey folks, I know this shot is fairly rubbish, but time is against me.

I just want to record, for posterity, that the sun DID shine on my birthday (I am 9 years old now) in 2013

and that

In the first part of the 21st century, gifts were often purchased from Amazon, and arrived in excitingly large boxes full of eco-packaging of the brown paper type, with a present somewhere amid the wrappings.

(This one is a bigger rucksack, for everyday use).

I also received some lovely treasure from the past in the mail, but more of that anon. We are going out now.

Just one more thing to share. At work, someone said to me,
"Helena, you haven't had your gastrostomy yet, have you?'
I thought for a second, "What an exceedingly bizarre birthday custom THAT has to be!"

Turns out they meant gastrostomy training, i.e. training in delivering food/liquids to other people who have had gastrostomies. Ok, not so commonplace either, but at least I wasn't whipped off to a secret room and 'initiated'.

And with that thought, I go out to eat, in the usual fashion.
