Groom to zoom

Seventeen students have so far tested positive for covid at Stirling University, according to the local paper, and a drive-in testing centre has been set up on campus. So, is it still safe to walk around the grounds? Officially yes, providing you keep the necessary two metres apart.  Am I taking an unnecessary risk walking there? I don’t know. Still this evening I took the added precaution of wearing a mask. There were very few people there.

This evening I took part in my first zoom meeting of my new online art course.  There were fifteen of us from all over the UK. I was surprised how proficient everyone was with the technology and relaxed about appearing on camera yet most of us were older people. (Sorry that’s me being ageist, after all why shouldn’t we older people be up to speed with technology)?

I guarantee six months ago we would all have been horrified at this new method of communication. Yet it’s another example how quickly we have adapted to the “new normal”.
