Penguin Droppings

Remembering

I remember when this was a natural wild area of grasses and other native plants that supported many invertebrates including meadow brown, ringlet and small copper butterflies.

Much of the site has been re-developed with new housing (flats) and associated parking. Just a small area remains but that has been artificially re-seeded with a 'wild-flower mix' of what someone thought ought to be growing there. There are currently flowering:
Scentless mayweed (which was there before)
Poppy (may have been there before)
Star Flower (Borage)
Corn flower
Corn marigold
Corn cockle
I am too late in the year to comment on what, if any, butterflies this new flora supports.
