Community Colours

Filled with gratitude for the sunshine today - HAD to get out in it, so went off into Sutton Park for most of the day, in spite of two articles to be written, and other duties...

Went into the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys, and so glad we did. They were wonderfully friendly (even giving us a cup of coffee), and felt quite moved, watching their work - providing riding therapy to children with special needs.

Then, at the edge of Blackroot Pool, saw a row of lads with Community Payback jackets - loved the reflected colours. According to their site, "last year alone saw 55,000 completed projects totalling more than 6 million hours of work and estimated at £35m worth of labour at minimum wage". What a wonderful idea - that they give back to the communities they have damaged...
