The Woodland Garden (Sunday 9th May 2021)

The copper beech by the car port that I planted in the nineties was catching the sun in the morning so I fired off a few contre jour shots to show off the burnished colours.
The Extra shows the scene in the evening.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
B B King - Sweet Little Angel (recorded 19 November 1955, Culver City CA)
Most critics think that the first B B King album, Singin' The Blues, is amongst his most indispensable. Released in 1956 on the budget Crown label it contained a selection of his early singles released between 1951 and 1956 on the RPM label. It is the first of eight albums on a cheapo 4CD set that I recently acquired and was playing on this day.
Sweet Little Angel is an adapted version of Robert Nighthawk's Sweet Black Angel (1949), in turn adapted from a Lucille Bogan 78 from 1930. It was a single for B B King in 1956, but a different earlier unreleased version was used for this album in which B B King is accompanied by the Maxwell Davis Orchestra, and so was new to me.
