Pictorial blethers

Poetry, faith - and socialising!

I’ve had such a good time today. Not your normal tourist/holidaymaker sort of day, but a social, sharing day in which I was allowed to be the teacher I used to be. My friend Sr Clare had arranged to first of three seminars looking at the link between poetry and faith - and I was the speaker at the first one, which was also the first post-restrictions event.

Participants had copies of my book, they responded with enormous warmth, they made seriously profound observations. What more could a speaker ask for? Oh yes - food! There was lunch, lovely lunch, before we returned to discussion ( I’d got my talk done before eating: A Good Thing.)

By the time we’d said goodbye and come back to our castle, there was time for a walk round the grounds, which is when I took the photo above, of an inlet to the south of Stornoway harbour. Then out to meet Clare and the day’s chefs for dinner, from which we staggered home to start thinking of packing.

It’s been quite a day …
