God Bless America....

....land that I love.
I'm posting late today, but I had to wait for the best part--the fireworks! I walked to my usual spot, only to find the whole area empty....then it finally dawned on me that the fireworks couldn't be shot out over the lake anymore because they built all those apartments/condos along the lake--the ones that now block everyone's view. So I walked around to the other side of the High School and saw some people in chairs facing the West, and then saw that the park was teeming with people, so figured they'd be shot off somewhere in that vicinity. They were great!  I went to Cudahy's parade at noon today because it was earlier (& larger) than our city's, and what a great turnout of people to watch it. The parade had it all--baton twirlers, bands, a drum corps, Veterans, an FBI vehicle, clowns, decorated bicycles, cheerleaders, motorcycles, antique cars, fire trucks, people throwing candy to the kids, etc. I put a second collage in the extras. It was HOT for the people walking in the parade as well as those of us watching it--90 degrees--so I didn't stick around for the food once the parade was over. Later, Tom grilled our T-bones for dinner and the fireworks finished off the day. A Happy 4th to all the U.S. Blippers, and hope you all had a great weekend. :)
