Misty Strathearn

I had a late start to the morning and by the time I left small flurries of snow were whirling about but they quickly changed to a smirr of rain. As it was a weekend with no sound of diggers and grabbers I took the dogs over the high road to see how the forresters were getting on and noticed that they had shifted quite a few of the large stacks. However I was dismayed to find that they have also increased the area felled and I had to navigate glutinous muddy wastes churned up by large tyres to find the path I was looking for. Finally and with impressive clogs of mud sticking to my walking boots I found the path which led me through the peace and quiet of the dense pine wood. I love the therapeutic qualities of this deep wood and hope the saw-happy men don't fell any more for a while.

This view was taken from the high point of the walk where the mist was just lying in thick damp swirls clinging to the valley over the River Earn while the grey sky was so low that it covered the tops of the distant hills.

Once home I retrieved my sewing machine from its hidey hole and made a small pouch for the tooth fairy as my eldest grandson has apparently found his first wobbly tooth. From within my stash I unearthed some fabric with colourful creepy crawlies on it - perfect. I wonder what the tooth fairy leaves these days?
