Going home

With our week in Cappadocia at an end, today was the long, very long journey back home to Akbuk (and a record number of red lights through Denizili and Aydin). Blazing sunshine at approx 38ºC - thank goodness for A/C all the way - with very few, very hot and very short stops, we crossed this rural land covering nearly 900km.  Google maps predicted our arrival time to the minute as we pulled in to the car park at 8.30, exactly ten hours after leaving the hotel.

Much cuddling of kitties, Dikkat, Cleo and Marty - and of course my Harry who had so much to tell me - it's the first time we've been apart since I went to Istanbul for four days last October, and before that, January 2020 was the last time that I was away for a week when I went to The Hague with my students for the MUN conference - seems so long ago now.  A very different life in so many ways.
