Ochil Sunset

Sunset over the Ochil hills, Dunfermline in the foreground.

I love to look across to those hills, each of them is easily identifiable and known almost intimately to me. I can focus on any of those peaks and although at this distance the details are missing, I can picture exactly how they look.

As I do so I remember the many times I have been up there through the years and varying seasons.  I think of my first ever run there; an out and back to Ben Cleuch on a sunny Sunday morning with Martin and Kevin. Running into an otherworldly sunrise on a still and frosty 31st of December. With good friends, at the small cairn on The Law, all awestruck above a perfect cloud inversion .Then there was this winter and the incredible snow, special at any time, beyond value in the midst of a long lockdown and a tough year.

And the best part, as I look across to those hills, remembering all the good times, is knowing that there are so many more of these memories to come.
