Humming along

First off - I took this photo yesterday but it’s too good not to share

Today I saw my neurologist for my 6 month follow up appointment and to also discuss changing my Disease Modifying Drug(DMD) therapy since after 7 years our insurance carrier has decided they will no longer pay for the one I am on.

My recent MRI compared to the one from 7 years ago, shows no changes. This means my MS has done no myelin damage in the past 7 years. WooHoo

We have decided to proceed with changing my DMD to Ocrevus. I filled out all the paperwork for the insurance company etc.

Casey said I shouldn’t be too concerned about stopping the Mycophenolate. She said the MS is typically most aggressive the first 5 to 10 years and even if I wasn’t changing to Ocrevus could probably now just take my Plegridy without the Mycophenolate with no issues.

She had me do bloodwork so they can do all the pre-checks etc. 9 vials of blood!

It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the insurance etc to process everything and I get scheduled for my first infusion.

Since Ocrevus goes after the B cells and is an aggressive immunosuppressant, I’m comfortable with this change This is the first major change I’ve made to my DMD therapy in the 20 years I’ve had MS.

Still not ready to eat at a restaurant but we to The Cheesecake Factory and got curbside pick up. We got a little something to share on the ride home and our usual for our dinner tomorrow! Yay!! A server, Angie, whom we’ve known for 15 years came out to the car to say hello to us. It’s her birthday on Sunday and so the necklace, earrings & bracelet I had on, came off and went into Angie’s pocket. It was so nice to see her (First time in two years)

Once we finally got home, Kent decided he was going to hand wash his truck and said that if I sat in the shade under the oak tree he’d wash mine too. He is such a keeper!

Take care of yourself and each other XX
