Hello Istanbul!

Safely settled in my apartment on campus that will be home for a week after an uneventful journey, other than the dreadful Istanbul traffic, especially on a Friday afternoon, I spent late afternoon and the entire evening at fav. haunt 'Dantes' in Arnavutkoy with Sean, Sarah, Marshall and other usual suspects. It's so good to be back and spend time with my friends.

Photo(s) taken in the village as I walked to the bar.  Arnavutkoy is a  place where life hasn't changed for hundred years co-existing with a bar full of loud music and young folk, all against the backdrop of the beautiful blue Bosphorus.

Arnavutköy (meaning "Albanian village" in Turkish[2][3]) is a historic neighbourhood in IstanbulTurkey renowned for its wooden Ottoman mansions and seafood restaurants, as well as the campus of the prestigious Robert College with its historic buildings. It is part of the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, and is located between Ortaköy and Bebek on the European shoreline of the Bosphorus strait. Wikipedia
