Snow capped Trossachs

While out walking today I stopped to take this photo and a passing walker said: “It’s like Austria”.

This afternoon we went to a concert, the first for over two years and it felt like a big event. It was Stirling Orchestra, playing Beethoven’s 5th Symphony and Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride.

The programme was short giving people the option of either an afternoon or an evening performance.

While there was no official social distancing the Albert Hall was only half full, due I suspect to limiting the numbers because of social distancing. Most people wore masks.

At the end the players rose to their feet to rapturous applause. We had waited a long time for this, and the pleasure on their faces as they faced a grateful audience was palpable.

N.B. Stirling Orchestra was runner up in the 2016 BBC series “All Together Now” .
