The dangers of the Internet

The Internet is a wonderful thing. In so many ways it has enriched our lives.
I have to admit that I use it for several hours every day. Email, reading books,  News,Blipfoto,Classical music and other entertainment and frequently finding information. It is hard to imagine life without it.

But as we all know it has serious dangers and they have been getting worse. There are dangers to our children, to our political system and values, fraud and ransomes and “trolling” to name but a few.

Later this week it is my turn to lead on a topic at the discussion group of which I am a member. I have chosen to talk about how we control the dangers of the Internet.
It is an appropriate time. Our Goverment is comitted to leading the world in making it safe to be online. It has just introduced an Online Safety Bill into Parliament.
Alongside that it as published this Factsheet which is well worth reading.
