Live and Let Live

Taken very early against a blue sky these Magpies are enjoying a break during nest building  Approximately 60 m  high to my eyes they look beautiful .
The nest is being built in a huge tree in the courtyard , easily 50m high and both come to the cafe .Tricky to photograph and having read how they are treated by many I can see why .The small bird lovers call this bird 'vermin' especially in Scotland where it's trapped and shot .Are these people forgetful they eat birds for their meals & consider that fine .Wild birds have no supermarkets & no bird is vermin.. My parting shot is how different it is when birds of prey eat small birds, herons etc The small "cute " bird lovers are in my opinion bonkers snobs..I've enclosed a link to a rather vitriolic article  written in Scotland :)
Not Pleasant Reading
