Visitor’s pass

These stickers are everywhere outside the hospital - all our details are recorded as we enter the hospital, QR code check in and only one visitor per day.
So that’s where the day started, it was meant to be a short visit but stayed nearly six hours. Still no real news of mum’s diagnosis so I asked if the oncologist could call - stage 4 liver cancer, longevity 1-2 years but it’s hard to say (as my sister said later though - her very weak heart or dementia etc may be the determining factor). Without really thinking, I explained the situation to my mother as she knew I was talking to the oncologist. It’s very weird, difficult and sad giving this message to someone. I then called Dad and he and mum chatted together for a bit. My sister called and I updated her too. What a surreal afternoon, I stayed with Mum, Dad called later. Eventually I left and met with an old friend for dinner. Nice to have a change of pace and hear about her and her son and his family. Went home via my nephew’s football training, attempted some marking and went to bed. I hope I don’t have to do that again too often!
