Skibladner 1856 - present

two postcards of the oldest conserved paddle or side wheeler in the world still operating a timetabled service...on Lake Mjosa in Norway at one time she carried rail passengers across the lake from Eidsvoll in the south  to Lillhammer at the north end....then in 1913 the railway from Oslo was completed northwards up the east side of the lake to Lillhammer and the steamer became a tourist attraction offering scenic tours and continues to do so in the summer months
..she has a triple expansion steam engine similar to  that on the larger sea going PS Waverley in Glasgow Scotland

extras show a stamp of the steamer issued by Norway Post 11thJune 1981 and a second printed tourist stamp with a special circular frank from 2nd June 2000

thanks to blipper Berger for reminding me of this grand old Norwegian lady
