Back on the Road Again

Since coming back from Stateside, I've only nipped into town on the bike. Today I made up for that a bit. 181 mile round trip to the National Memorial Arboretum at Arewas.
It was our annual memorial ride, which didn't happen for the past two years of course, where we honour members of the Royal British Legion Riders Branch that we have lost in the past 12 months.
The list of names was being read out and I must admit a lump came to my throat when the name Geoffery West was called. He was a member of the Gloucesteshire area of the riders and a very popular bloke. Known to us as 'Beefy', not because he was big or fat, but because he was a butcher by trade.
It was a great ride, although the majority was motorway / freeway / interstate / highway! Met so many people that I hadn't seen for over two years. It was good to get together again.
