On Some Days

Autumn All Around

No sunshine to light up the leaves but seeing this avenue of trees is head turning.
Our deep freezer contains a variety of wild game meat.  Usually it tastes good but I'm never entirely sure.  The last time I cooked for Andrew it was a leg of venison stuffed and slow roasted.  It was very good.  Tonight it is wild pork.  I have put a rub on it as you would for pulled pork and it is smelling good as it cooks slowly under a cover and sitting on a bed of vegetables and stock.  I'll let you know how it turns out.  The brother in law is going to share the meal too.  The conversation should be good at least.   I have no idea how this song came into my mind.

I talk To The Trees               Alan Jay Lerner/ Frederick Loewe

I talk to the trees
But they don't listen to me
I talk to the stars
But they never hear me

The breeze hasn't time
To stop, and hear what I say
I talk to them all
In vain . . .
