Aberdeen Arts Centre

Gorgeous light this evening
so I had fun driving around and taking a number of pictures
I have been meaning to take for a while.
This was a quick snap taken on the way down the beach
from the centre of the dual carriageway.

Formerly the North Church; Aberdeen Arts Centre lies on King Street
and is regarded as the finest work of local architect John Smith (1781 - 1852).
Built 1829-30, the building benefits from a portico supported on Ionic columns
and reflects Smith's great attention to detail. Internally little of Smith's interiors remain following the conversion to the Arts Centre in the 1950s.
