Little Miss Polish Fest

What a fun day! Polish Fest was this weekend, and Jennie had entered Mae in the Polish Fest Pageant, so of course I went to cheer her on. They had 4 age groups.....4-6 y.o. (which was for "Little Miss Polish Fest; Mae's age group), 7-9 y.o. which was for Junior Miss Polish Fest, 10-12 y.o. for Pre-teen Miss Polish Fest and 13-16 y.o. for Miss Teen Polish fest. The little girls were all adorable--there were 8 in Mae's group--and they did an opening dance number, modeled a party dress, answered an onstage question and then each danced the polka around the stage in their Polish costumes. I think initially we were all more excited than Mae was because all the little girls got tiaras, & she didn't realize she had the big one & that she'd won. Afterward they were escorted to each of the 3 big polka stages where they were introduced to the crowds at each stage. She was told she'll get to be in a  parade this summer & will make some appearances at the Polish Center. We walked all over the grounds, watched some of the dancing, looked at the Polish Pottery (my favorite), had some assorted pierogi & Polish sausages, and talked to a lot of people. When I asked her later what her favorite part of the day was, she said the best part was when the man at one of the booths gave her two free suckers "because you're the Queen".  Lol. I put a few more photos in the extras. :)
