An ordinary life....

More angels and demons...

I can now post the other commission I was working on as my friend has delivered it to her client.

Long story short, it was for her 4 year old twin daughters who are chalk and cheese.    One loves all things dark, witches and spells etc, the other loves unicorns sugar and spice and all things nice :-)  The client wanted the original painting but also to have birthday party invitations made from it.  I left that task in my pal's skilled hands  :-))

This afternoon I was supposed to be photographing my artist friend's painting that's been commissioned by a well known rock band, but she was still working on it at lunch time so we've rescheduled that for Wednesday.

Instead I did some more of my current little flower painting and then after researching an email I'd received from Phil Davies, an art tutor I've followed in the past (and his dad, both excellent) took the decision to sign up for his new drawing course.

It's a year long and pretty intensive but I really feel a bit aimless in my art journey at the moment and have always wanted to get my teeth stuck into a drawing course (as opposed to a painting course) and when I read the detail of this, it sounded exactly what I've been looking for.

It requires a time commitment and lots of practice of the lessons and that's what I need to get me to focus properly.  It's basically like an online college course and that's exactly how I will treat it.  I've signed up for the year but it's paid monthly and I can cancel at any time.  If, after the first month I don't think it's for me and I can cancel and they will refund my money so I feel I can't lose.  I'm very excited about it.

There was a long list of materials required but on checking them I was relieved to discover I already have most of them.  Just a couple of pads to by, one for charcoal pencils and one for pastels.  Oh and some
STAEDTLER Mars Lumograph black pencils, but they were under £8 so not a deal breaker.

Can't wait to get started but it will be Thursday as seeing Fiona on Wednesday and got another MRI tomorrow to check if Florence (my fibroid) has shrunk.  Here's hoping she has because three months ago she was almost 14cm.  If she gets any larger I'll be buying maternity clothes!

Oh almost forgot!  Today's little victory...Alan was at the hygienist and he let her work on his teeth for a slightly longer period and she actually managed to make a small but significant difference.  Woo hoo!  I will take the victories where I can!  :-))

Oh and I've also committed to crocheting a bed throw for Nikki.  That will be four crochet projects on the go!  When I say on the go I more accurately mean going nowhere as finding the time to crochet is difficult! It will be a Christmas pressie but I'm not committing myself to which Christmas!  ;-))

Incase you missed her...there's another angel/demon HERE! :-))
