A Gove Too Far

Soooo, how was your day? Anything much going on?

I was one of the few people not resigning from government on the solid basis that I don’t actually work for the government, but like those who did and now don’t, I don’t think I would have the stomach for it either.

Fortunately, democracy has sort of worked and Bohnson (thank you, Tim Key – I thoroughly recommend his poetry/blank verse on the goings on btw, they are very very funny) has finally taken the hint and thrown in the towel. His resignation speech was effectively “I don’t want to go and it’s everyone else’s fault that I have to” and he had the temerity to count Brexit as one of his “achievements”, which genuinely made me laugh out loud.

Also making me laugh was one minister stating that the sacking of Michael Gove tipped some over the edge, which was effectively stating that we could just about live with everything else he did and lied about, but sacking Govey? Not on my watch…

Who follows him now? Personally, I would give the job to someone who really really doesn’t want to do it. That way we know that they are not power hungry and are imbued with at least a modicum of common sense.

Other highlights of the day included my fastest 5k of the year and finding some beauty in this lone flower tucked into some miscellaneous foliage in the yarden.

Might finish up the day by taking my courtesy car (nothing courteous about it), the Citroen Pray-for-survival, for a little spin.

There’s clearly so much more fun to come!
