The result of weeks of rain

The persistent rain has delayed the re-roofing of our A-Frame home. It has also created waterlogged pasture such as this  in the corner created by the Rimutaka-Huia track as it joins Huia Road. The pool has formed in the lowest lying land in the two or three paddocks which support three sheep (two ewes and a ram) and any number of water birds, mainly Pukeko (or Swamp Hen).

Felt very pleased with myself as I successfully used the BBQ to roast some lamb, small potatoes, and small carrots. The broccoli was partly cooked in the microwave.
