HEAT:

The transfer of kinetic energy from one medium or object to another, or from an energy source to a medium or object.

Such energy transfer can occur in three ways. 
Radiation
Conduction
Convection


All of the above. Our digital thermometer hit 35c today.

I have not personally experienced this since 2007. Our last holiday abroad as a family. 
Kefalonia. 
The fires destroyed most of the vegetation across most of the island. We were evacuated. 

The thermometer hit 50c that week. That was properly hot.
