Time's Winged Chariot

It's 95F/35C this afternoon, so I'm hunkered down in my apartment with the AC on (not helping the climate any). Met with Au this morning, but as I have already posted a portrait that I think expresses his intelligence and humor, I went with the clouds above us, as they really did look like wings to me.

Me: What's ahead for you now?
Au: I want to learn to be a Slacker.
Me: What a great idea!

Andrew Marvell's poem has always infuriated me, as the "sport" he encourages has very different consequences for women than for men (unchanged since the 17th century), but I do get the time's wingéd chariot bit of it. Inspired by Au, I'm glad to aim to be dreamy, since I have already been disenfranchised as a result of capitalism. I doubt either of us will achieve slackerhood, but that intention is a nice balance for habits of overwork, a way to laugh at our tendency to feel useless and unworthy if we're not making an active contribution.
