The Woodland Garden (Saturday 24th September 2022)

The Autumn Equinox this year fell on Friday at 0204 hr BST, so it is now inarguably Autumn. The Boston Ivy that used to surround the outbuilding came to the end of its life while that building was being upgraded and was replaced a couple of years ago by a new Boston Ivy and this Virginia Creeper that was planted against the eastern wall, on the driveway. It took quite awhile for its suckers to learn to fix themselves to the wall but this is now happening and we've been rewarded this year with these rich autumnal colours on both of the young plants.
