Clachan Bridge

I loved my wee day trip to the bridge over the Atlantic, or Clachan Bridge as it's known, which takes you over to the Island of Seil, which is part of the Islands known as the Slate Islands.

We headed along to Ellenabeich, the largest village on Seil, which has some pretty cottages that the local quarry workers would have used, and you can see where lots of the slate has been used from in the area. The quarry itself was actually flooded during a bad storm in 1881, although fortunately, no one was there at the time.

Such a pretty wee place for a wander and where there were excellent views over to Mull today.

We also stopped by Cuan, meeting some friendly local coos along the way and watched the ferry go over to the Island of Luing before heading back over the Clachan Bridge and back to Oban.
