Flossmo

Printmaking workshop day 2.

It has been another interesting and inspirational day in Studio North. Unlike a normal workshop everyone has been working on quite different projects and it has been a golden opportunity to learn from what others have been doing. The photograph shows a print taken from the original plate and a print taken after it was cut down and inked using two colours. The difference in impact is staggering. I would definitely have discarded the plate without the intervention of our tutor Tracy Hill. She has helped me to work on four other plates too and move them to a much better place. Well worth the trip north for this workshop.

After the workshop I dashed off to meet two third cousins whom I met a few years ago in the course of family history research. We had a pleasant  couple of hours of discussing latest finds.

Back at the cottage I made some dinner and spoke on the telephone with Mr Flossmo. All is still well with Sky and she came and sat near the phone, apparently, when she heard my voice.

I am now ready for an early night with my new furry hot water bottle; the furry hot water bottle that this morning, in that twilight zone between sleep and wakefulness, I thought was Sky in bed with me. I stroked 'her back' until the penny dropped that she was actually over two hundred miles away. Hm.
