Bathroom renovation end in sight

There were three workmen in the house today: the electrician, the plumber, and the tiler. The latter stayed until just before 9pm to be sure that all the tiles were laid and grouted before he left for the night. We are delighted with his work. The blip almost gives the impression that the bathroom renovation is complete. It's not, but the end is in sight.

It's a good end to a difficult day. Earlier on we had to make a hard decision regarding the layout of the tiles blipped, and we have also been forced to compromise on the power to the heated towel rail to be fitted beneath the bathroom window.

The electricity was on and off intermittently throughout the day, making it impossible for us to go about our usual routines, and adding to our stress. I had hoped to finish the work on the proofs of a journal article, but this will have to wait until tomorrow.

While we were without power I completed some darning, read my book, and listened to some radio programmes downloaded from BBC Sounds. I also went for a run.

We've had workmen in the house for over a month now and are very keen for them to go. Putting up with the disruption and losing our privacy is very wearing. I have told Mr hazelh that I never ever want a new kitchen!

Exercise today: 5k run.
