Looks like a juvenile

A late afternoon walk along the lower pipe line, which is where I saw this young (I think) Tui. It was one of the few active birds in the damp and dull bush. It was very accommodating and hardly hid at all. On th way back, I went around Waima Crescent, and was rewarded for the extra distance by a large Kereru arriving on a Nikau beside the road to eat Nikau berries. After looking back over its shoulder towards me, it went around the other side of the Nikau, so I walked on.
