Shortbread and topiary.

A dull start to the day, but we set off in the direction of Grantown on Spey to visit the KJ Bothy Bakery, a special shop where all sorts of lovely food could be bought. Afterwards, going on to Aberlour to visit Walkers Shortbread Factory shop, we passed the beautiful Tormore distillery with its rather amazing topiary garden and decided to call in on the way back.

Unfortunately the rain soon caught up with us and we had to have our picnic lunch in the car, down by the beautiful suspension footbridge over the Spey. We stopped at the distillery on the way back and I had a long chat with the gardener, a very keen and knowledgeable man, and a wander round the garden, fortunately the rain having stopped. This is my Blip today.

After a stop in Grantown for a look round the shops - and a walk up the street with the camera for me - we arrived back at the lodge after a good day out and some interesting history.
