More waterfalls!

Saturday 26 November
The day started sunny, but soon clouded over, though it remained quite warm. Another day, another waterfall! Today for a change, we headed south for just under an hour to High Falls State Park in the shady forest just north of Macon, where the Towaliga River cascades over rocks and boulders. The trail first descends along the falls, via a series of wooden platforms then looped up through the forest before descending again to a calmer stretch of the river, and then up again through the forest dotted with boulders. It was a wonderful scenic hike. We then crossed the bridge near the car park and took another shorter trail following the river on the other side.
In the evening, Jen had bought us tickets for Cirque du Soleil, under a Big Top. I’m very familiar with the name of this Quebec based company, which was originally founded about 40 years ago, but had never seen a show, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was an amazing show, mind boggling at times, including a series of acrobatic, aerial routines, interspersed with other acts.
