Not in a tree

I am not sure that I've seen a Tui on the ground before. They are always in trees, or at least something that is above the ground. This one flew across the road and into a tree. As I was sorting out my camera (because of rain I had it in a "bum-bag") it abruptly flew down onto the junction between the road and someone's driveway. And there it stayed, adopting different poses, until I had some good photos.

The extra is a photo of one of the neighbourhood mallard ducks with very recently hatched ducklings. They had just crossed the road and were heading into the undergrowth of the reserve through which runs a track to the next street over.
