Day 10 in the hospital

After a good sleep at home in our own bed we had breakfast, then prepared some food to take to the hospital with us.  We did a quick clean up, packed up everything we needed and walked across the road to catch the Tamaki LInk bus, then the number 75 bus.  Unfortunately, the Tamaki Link was too slow and we missed the connection., but only had to wait 15 minutes for the next 75 bus.

Mum has gone downhill and is mostly unconscious with a few brief moments of lucidity when she’s aware of us and can nod or shake her head in answer to questions.  She is comfortable and being well looked after by the nurses.  We have all said our goodbyes and It is now just a matter of waiting for Mum to let go.  We are still ensuring that she is never alone, which we believe is important for her.

As we waited for the Tamaki Link I took a close up of an agapanthus flower, then a photo of a day lily as we waited for the 75 bus.
