First Spring Rain

I know it looks like I'm wholly ripping off missing and dreamer , but great minds think alike. Last night and today we had our first serious rain this spring and the birch leaves just started to sprout in the last couple of days. This blip is in celebration of that milestone. I can feel my hay-fever coming on.

On Saturday, there was still ice covering about half of Lake Wasilla, but when I went back on Sunday to get pictures of some birds on the wet ice, it was all gone.

The mosquitoes are also coming out (Alaska state bird). Time to get the mosquito sucker out.
