An in-between day

Today started very early, with a 4.30 reveille for me to take L to Inverness Airport for his flight back to LHR. All went smoothly. I was a bit worried that the roads would be difficult, but apart from hitting a patch of ice in the front yard by the gate (no casualties), before I even got to the car, it was all fine. The thaw has set in.

Back at home by 6.30am, I roused Mr A for breakfast and then settled in to a morning's working before we popped out to get the car washed. I know it's a bit pointless, but I still wanted to get the worst of the salt off it. Plenty of other people had had the same idea.

After a bit more work, I headed out to have a look at TRACC, the local council gym, before holding one more Teams meeting and officially putting the lid on work for the year.

I had a bit of a snooze on the sofa during the evening, whilst periodically following L & G's progress across the country. They left York at 1355 and came straight through to Inverness on an LNER train. I was a bit anxious when flooding around Gleneagles was announced, but it was a false alarm and they got to Inverness on time. They had a bit of a wait before getting the local train, which arrived at Tain station pretty much on time at 2239. They were the only passengers getting off, and none were getting on for the train to make its return journey to Inverness where it presumably spends the night. They said that the last of the other passengers had alighted in Invergordon. The blip recalls the intrepid explorers arriving in this blip.

We headed home for a late night cup of tea, before hitting the sack. Quite a long day for me!

I've added an extra which recalls a previous blip. It was taken during an aborted attempt at a walk on the Links, which was like a skating rink with added water for slipperiness.
