Challenging film

We are just back from seeing Tar, starring Cate Blanchett, selected by many critics as the best film of 2022.

“You realise you are the only man here,” I whisper  to M as we settle into our
 seats .

I had a vague idea of the story line, about a classical woman conductor , and did have misgivings that M would not like it but then I had never known the Macrobert arts centre  select a duff film.

Well, lets say it was challenging and Cate Blanchett gives a powerful performance as a predatory classical musical conductor with an eye for “ fresh meat”.

The Independent critic summed it up:
Tár is essentially about our current moment, and all the whirlpools of discourse around #MeToo and “cancel culture”.

Photo: snapped on my morning walk. I liked the juxtaposition of the damaged oak tree alongside the black plastic wrapped bales of hay.
