Stonechat And Goldcrest

I heard the tinkling song of a goldcrest as I was walking round the lake this morning and spotted the bird in an ash overhanging the water. I like the rosy colour in the background which is the reflection of the summer house in the water.

After lunch I walked at Holyfield farm. I was interested to see some barnacle geese as featured on this evening's Wild Isles. Deer were on the hill and skylarks singing aloft. I searched in vain for the pair of stonechats in the position that I have seen them recently. As I walked back to the car I spotted the male on a fence getting buffeted by the fresh breeze. He was joined by the beautiful female.
