Walk In The Park

We were in the park with the Flumlet this afternoon, the tree blossom is at its peak just now - I think this is a variety of cherry. Thanks to BikerBear for continuing to host Flower Friday.

On our way back I checked the 'gully' for blossom among the emerging wild garlic; snowdrops are over, as are the winter aconites but the primroses are coming into their own (extra 1) on the south-facing bank. This plant exhibits the pin-eyed form, where the stigma appears as a tiny sphere, the stamens sitting below in the corolla tube. Nearby are plants showing the thrum-eyed form but they were too distant for my camera.

Just for the record, extra 2 has the Flumlet enjoying the gym equipment, watched by Mr Flum; this was taken across the park over the glorious crocus display (which appeared on the BBC Scotland weather forecast this morning, courtesy of another photographer), unfortunately I had to crop these out to show the activity more clearly.
