Feeling better!

This is Kanji eating some of his fresh veg this morning and boy are we relieved! He didn’t eat at all yesterday, necessitating a (costly) visit to the emergency vet last night. We were worried he was developing gut stasis which can be fatal for rabbits. We had managed to syringe feed him some rabbit critical care food before we took him to the vet, who told us his gut was slowish but still moving ok. We were to continue to syringe feed him at four hourly intervals until his appetite was back. Fortunately he is eating again today.
The vet thinks it could be that he was only now being affected by Lily’s death. Maybe spending time alone outside these past few days has contributed.
On another sad note, we heard today that there is only one surviving kit in Shortbread’s litter.
