Swan at the loch

The weather forecast was not great and I had not slept well, so I decided not to go far today. Started the day with a walk round the Loch. The pair of swans have used the same nesting site for many years but sadly because the water levels are so high at the moment, they are having to build a new one, unfortunately it is nearer to the edge of the loch so will be at more risk from predators. There are sadly very few birds on the loch these days, I saw only three mallards, two males and one poor harassed female, a pair of tufted ducks, three pairs of teal, a few coots and a heron.
My afternoon was spent in the back garden pruning the large buddleia bush and potting out some primulas. A few showers meant the washing was in and out several times!
