Easter Sunday

The bakeries were open, and one or two kiosks, but nothing else. Not a typical Sunday. Oh, and a few tavernas and restaurants in Plaka, the tourist area. They were cooking lamb on a spit which is the traditional Easter lunch - quite unusual to see it. And it was happening all over Athens. I had a nice early morning walk and then lunch with my friend who lives on the other side of the square from me.
The bread is Tsoureki - an Easter tradition. This wasn’t at my local bakery but I’ve never seen more exhausted owners!
