End of an era

When I visited my friend George today at his studio workshop, he informed me that he is retiring, and passing most of his video equipment on to a former employee. He and I have been in the video industry together for more that 50 years and it is a very sad day. He has multiple health issues and knows that now is the time.

I asked him what he plans to do in the future as I cannot see him sitting down watching TV all day.. His answer was the continued study of computer technology and AI in particular. You can never keep a creative man down.

The machine that you see with the reels is a tele-cine machine built by George. I will greatly miss his help, enthusiasm and enormous skills.
