the flags are out in Stony Stratford

Eleanor of Castile, wife of Edward 1st, is celebrated in this mural, just off the High Street. She died in 1290 and her funeral cortège rested in the town, enroute from Lincoln to London.  

The town is also know for the so-called Cock and Bull stories.  The Cock can be seen in the extra - the Bull is behind me as I take this.
