Stockholm Day 2

This is a very late posting - we’ve been very busy being tourists.

After breakfast we walked down to the harbour to go on a 2.5 hour boat trip of the Stockholm Archipelago. It was another beautiful day, perfect for a trip out on the water. We went on a lovely old boat with a commentary provided by a lovely lady who sounded just like a favourite aunt telling stories in a warm, familiar voice. She was very good. It was a lovely trip with lots of islands, beautiful houses and other interesting things to look at. We left at 10:30am and returned at 1pm - an excellent trip. As soon as we arrived back in the harbour we disembarked and walked to Djurgården and found a peaceful café (Villa Godthem) for lunch and a coffee. After lunch we visited the Viking Museum, which was extremely interesting. Afterwards we caught a tram back to near the hotel and had a relaxing half hour before we left for another guided tour by M in an area we hadn’t previously been, on the way to the restaurant where we were having dinner. It was a lovely evening and we enjoyed the walk before dinner at Master Anders. M was disappointed, as he thought it would be old-fashioned and serve traditional Swedish food, but it’s had an upgrade and is now a buzzy, more modern restaurant. However, the meal was excellent, the service very good and we had an enjoyable evening. Afterwards we sat on a bench enjoying a view of the water before returning to the hotel. It was another wonderful day in beautiful Stockholm.

The blips show views of the day.
